Redesigning The Cockpit Experience
This SCAD collaboration with Gulfstream Aerospace focused on redesigning the synoptic interface within the Gulfstream 650ER cockpit, the incredibly complex system that we were asked to improve. But through the hard work of a 20 person and multi-disciplinary team, we were able to deliver synoptics that were a simple, clean, and intuitive way to incorporate the currently separate status and control. We were able to validate our design decisions through user testing, so the overall result became a very near term solution for the client.

Gulfstream 650ER SYnoptic Redesign
This SCAD collaboration with Gulfstream Aerospace tasked a 20 student team with a redesign of the most important system on the plane, the synoptics. This is the interface the pilot uses to interact with the plane, so it was important to consider their needs as well as the FAA. After several rounds of user testing with Gulfstream pilots, we were able to create two design solutions, the near term and more futuristic next generation.
